September 30th, 2010

The Afssaps have the pleasure to invite you to dinner at the

Orsay

Museum

Restaurant

Orsay museum is open to the public since December 1986 and exhibits a wide range of paintings, sculptures, architecture, objets d’art, furniture, cinema, photographs, music, opera sets and Western artistic creation from 1848 to 1914. It gathers national collections essentially coming from: the Louvre, the Jeu de Paume museum and the national museum of modern art from the Georges Pompidou center. Orsay museum is famous for its impressionist works and its numerous temporary exhibitions all year long.

Restrained elegance complements the magnificent spaces defined by enormous windows and lit by dazzling, crystal chandeliers. The gilded decoration brings out the radiance of the ceilings in the Grande Salle and the Petit Salon, painted by Gabriel Ferrier and Benjamin Constant. Jean-Michel Wilmotte, an architect of international repute, has given the restaurant a new identity defined by a clear objective to embrace the modern idiom. All the furnishings are in contemporary materials. The aesthetic of clean lines and pastel colors contrasts harmoniously with the turn of the century décor.

The French cuisine is equally impressive with its blends and contrasts. Chef Yann Landureau and his team have developed traditional French dishes characterized by contrasting flavors of mild spices, subtle combinations of sweet and savory, and delicate touches of color in each dish.
